Due to the second wave of COVID pandemic in SriLanka, the locked down and on-going curfew has impacted significantly on the daily wage workers and rural poor. The rural migrant workers and seasonal labourers set back to the villages with families. These daily wage workers are suffering a lot with no income, no works as people stay at home because of lockdown. Global Ehsan Relief distributed food aid for the worth of LKR 4500 to 300 families who are vulnerable and panhandlers. This project was funded by the GER worldwide team in Singapore to its country office. Further, more distribution planned in December to support 500 the most vulnerable families in the lock down and guarantied rural areas of Trincomalee district and those are especially poor families that the breadwinners depend on daily labourers and services providers category. the breadwinners are facing hardships without an alternate source of income.
